JOB SUMMARY: The Utilities Division is looking for an experienced Groundsman that will support the Utilities Streetlight Maintenance team with installing and maintaining electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems for Streetlight installations and maintenance per plans and specifications. RESPONSIBILITIES: Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in streetlights. Install various types of conduit to electrical devices and equipment. Test electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation. Inspect electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed. Assist with trenching, digging, or other ground-level tasks as needed. Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for lineman at job sites. Inspect tools and equipment for proper functioning and report and issues immediately to supervisors. Signal or direct traffic around work zones when required. Safely operate a bucket truck. Assist Journeyman/Lineman in all tasks. Actively use the system TerraGO to complete jobs. Follow all safety policies and guidelines set by HJD Capital Electric. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: 1 years of experience pulling wire, installing conduit, and installing fixtures and plugs. Experience working on streetlights. Familiar with the basic tools and equipment used in streetlight or electrical work. Able to read and interpret information on the iPad. Capable of working in confined spaces and at heights. Experience working outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold). Physical capability to carry up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor. Strong attention to detail and initiative to perform additional tasks when needed. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Must have a safety-first mindset to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Preferred: Computer Skills. Preferred : Valid CDL holder. WHY JOIN US?
