TITLE: SR. 2 Electric Technician
POSITION OBJECTIVE: To perform all duties assigned, which fall under the maintenance area of responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational education desirable.
  • Previous maintenance experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.


    • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.


      JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Adhere to all plant safety rules and company policy.
      • Consistently demonstrates safe work habits
      • Adhere to all company rules and policies
      • Has complete understanding of the plant and department safety rules
      • Demonstrates good housekeeping by ensuring his or her assigned area is kept clean.
      • Works efficiently with other employees in order to meet plant and department goals in safety, quality, production and housekeeping
      • Follows oral and written instructions from higher management
      • Works and cooperates with other departments within the plant
      • Attends scheduled department safety and training meetings
      • Ability to receive constructive suggestions
      • Ability to troubleshoot equipment, i.e. FMC bag machine and winder, Kiefel extruder and winder, Amplast Unwinder, Ktron resin system.
      • Comply with all written and verbal safety rules using personnel protective equipment as required by department and plant safety programs.
      • Plan and carry-out tasks to accepted national and local standards and codes.
      • Identify and correct, in a timely manner, problems in all areas of the plant including production equipment, material handling equipment, etc. to within accepted codes.
      • Ability to coordinate and lead small work groups to complete assigned tasks.
      • Check voltage with volt meter.
      • Check amperes with Amprobe.
      • Read electrical and construction schematics pertaining to electrical
      • Understand electrical diagrams
      • Troubleshoot electrical motors.
      • Install bearings and deals in electrical motors of all sizes.
      • Replace electrical motors (AC and DC)
      • Check out and troubleshoot DC drives
      • Do PMS on electrical equipment
      • Troubleshoot and replace heater bands
      • Replace and repair if possible heat controls.
      • Troubleshoot replays, starters, circuit breakers and replace when needed.
      • Be able to bend rigid or EMT pipe
      • Check and replace fuses.
      • Read dial and venire calipers.
      • Be able to read metric and standard measurements
      • Check and repair or replace when necessary thermocouples
      • Must know about resin systems
      • Must know how to download and reload computers.
      • Must know hot to troubleshoot and repair solid state circuitry.
      • Must be able to set up and run a job without being supervised.
      • Must be able to install starters, wiring, etc. in panels.
      • Must be able to lay out panels and design wiring schematics.
      • Must be able to repair faulty wiring.
      • Must know all wires sizes and voltage and amp ratings.
      • Design or modify circuits, controls or components when needed.
      • Identify and understand the function of equipment
      • Provide timely preventive maintenance support and records all test data
      • Ability to properly fill out necessary paperwork associated with work orders, historical files, time cards and issues tickets.
      • Must have and properly select tools required for task being performed
      • Able to disassemble equipment make necessary repairs and restore to normal operations.
      • Perform job task without supervision
      • Ability to train other personnel effectively
      • Planning and achieve job tasks in a timely manner
      • Ability to seek method by which to improve department efficiency
      • Available for overtime, call-ins and rotating schedule
      • Willingness to learn and upgrade skill level.
      • Performs other related duties as assigned
      • Provide timely preventive maintenance support coordinating with production personnel
      • Responsible for good housekeeping in assigned and work areas.
      • Make any mechanical repairs on equipment as necessary


        WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

        • Inside environmental conditions, protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
        • Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be hard above the noise level.
        • Subject to vibration, exposure fluctuating movements of the body.
        • Subject to hazards, such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemical, gases high heat.
        • Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts.


          AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING:

          • Oversees SR. 1 and Technicians in completing various tasks and duties.
          • Report any unsafe conditions; Hazards.

            MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:

            • Electronic & mechanical devices.
            • Forklift hand jack.
            • Tape measure.
            • Utility knife & safety (J). knife.


              PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

              • Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs and / or hands arms. Body agility is emphasized. Example: Climb 3 flights of stairs as needed to reach to top of the extruder.
              • Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
              • Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist. Example: changing paper in printer, copier machine.
              • Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knee. Example: roll changes - lifting either 34 lbs. cores or 55 lbs. shafts (frequency per shift: 18 - 26 times).
              • Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
              • Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Example: giving signal, reaching for material or handles on item - moving raw material with forklift.
              • Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time. Example: packing a line(s), QC testing, on line inspections, etc.
              • Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
              • Pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
              • Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
              • Lifting, rising objects from lower to higher position, or moving objects horizontally from position. Degree of lifting: 5-50 lbs.
              • Fingering, picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.
              • Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
              • Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
              • Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word. Via face to face or telephone.
              • Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db. loss @ 500Hz, 1000Hz, and 2000Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive verbal communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
              • Repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and / or fingers.


                VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

                • Position requires individual to differentiate colors, depth, and perception.
                • Must be able to detect visual defects in film.
                • Must be able to perform visual inspections involving small defects.
                • Must be able to read measurement devices such as tape measurements, pendulum scale, digital displays, etc.
