Job Description:

Performs complex (senior-level) computer programming work in support of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Information Technology Services Division. Writes or modifies existing application software programs based upon program specifications or verbal instruction with the objective of meeting agency needs in one or more agency divisions/units; may work on these assignments independently or as part of a team. Trains others. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Required Skills:

• 8 years of experience in Progressively responsible experience performing systems analysis, design, and development on business applications software
• 8 years of experience in analysis, design and application development of multi-tier applications in Java/J2EE technology (Java design patterns, MVC, JSP, Javabeans, Servlets,etc), Spring/Springboot framework, Spring Batch, REST based Microservices.
• 8 years of experienced with designing SOA based architecture. Working knowledge of XML, HTML, WSDL, Javascript, AJAX, JSP, JQuery, NodesJS.
• 4 years of experience in Education - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or a related field
• 4 years of experience in Advanced scripting skills
• 3 years of experience with SVN, GitHub, JIRA
• 3 years of experience in writing software development documentation, including designs, mockups, workflows, test cases to ensure functional and optimized performance, knowledge transfer documents, etc.
• 2 years of experience in Bash scripting
• 2 years of experience in technical report writing and documentation specifications.
  Preferred Skills:
  • 2 years of experience working with DB2 databases
  • 2 years of experience in Confluence, JAMA.
  • 2 years of experience in working with Python scripts
  • 2 years of experience in developing and supporting BIRT reports.
  • 2 years of experience in Agile Management Software Development with Test Driven Development, Iterative development, Scrum pair and other agile practices and methodologies.
  • 2 years of experience in using IDE like Eclipse , Meeclipse, STS for debugging and using java coding standards from the beginning of development.
  • 1 year of experience in Texas State Agency developer experience, preferably TxDMV
