Our rapidly growing team of 100+ people in Austin, TX, Oxford, UK, and Melbourne, Australia brings together exceptionally talented and passionate people in the domains of energy trading, data science, software engineering and renewable energy management.We have a vacancy for a Head of IT Infrastructure & Security to join our team based in Austin. This role will be responsible for overseeing all IT operations, ensuring infrastructure security, and maintaining compliance with cybersecurity standards. This role will manage IT technicians, coordinate office technical facilities and work closely with DevOps to ensure secure cloud infrastructure. Additionally, the role will manage our cybersecurity programme, co-ordinating auditors & vendors, working towards and maintaining cyber security certifications, incident response, and fostering a culture of security awareness within Habitat. The role is hands-on and we're looking for someone with broad IT experience including achieving and maintaining cybersecurity certifications.Your responsibilities will include:

• Identity & Access Management - Manage secure user provisioning, authentication, authorisation, and corporate IT accounts.
• Infrastructure Security & Audits - Conduct security audits, manage penetration testing, ensure compliance, and maintain cybersecurity certifications.
• Networking & IT Operations - Oversee corporate network security, IT assets, cloud backups, and disaster recovery.
• Cost & Vendor Management - Optimise IT costs and align procurement with business needs.
• IT Support & Asset Management - Lead IT support, manage employee IT assets, and document IT policies.
• Platform & Cloud Security - Work with DevOps to enforce security policies across cloud infrastructure.Preferred skills and experience:
  • IT operations & security leadership across multiple regions.
  • IT support & asset management (Mac/Windows, MDM & XDR solutions).
  • Cloud security, IAM, and DevOps collaboration.
  • Google Workspace & Microsoft 365 administration and security best practices
  • Cybersecurity certifications (UK/US), audits & compliance.
  • Driving Incident response planning, disaster recovery & business continuity planning.
  • IT procurement, vendor & contract management.
  • Network security & infrastructure management.
  • Regulatory compliance & stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong communication & orgnaisational skills, translating tech for non-technical teams.'Nice to have' skills and experience:
    • Experience with AI-driven security monitoring and threat detection.
    • Knowledge of penetration testing methodologies and remediation.
    • Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
    • Knowledge of data protection regulations and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, NIST, AESCSF, CyberEssentials, ISO 27001).
    • Experience conducting security tabletop exercises and training.
    • Understanding of Zero Trust architecture and implementation.
