Overview$500 SIGN ON BONUS!*See staff services for details*16+ LIFEGUARDS START at 15/hr!15 YEAR OLD LIFEGUARDS START AT 10/HR!Lifeguards maintain the safety of guests, by overseeing their assigned areas to protect weak or distressed swimmers in times of need and communicating with guests regarding other safety issues.QualificationsQualifications:Must be at least 15 years old.Must be friendly and outgoing with a high customer service acumen.Required to maintain established performance levels.Must successfully complete a swim-test and Ellis & Associates lifeguard certification course.Physical Requirements:Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, picking, pinching, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion of the hands, wrists and/or fingers.Standing or sitting for extended periods of time.Swimming a distance of 50 yards in shallow water and 200 yards in deep water (distance depending on type of license).Diving feet-first in 5-10 feet under water and retrieving a 10-pound brick.Treading water without using arms.Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.20/25 vision with or without corrective lenses. Both eyes must also be fully functional.Exposure to environmental conditions such as rain, direct/indirect sun and heat for extended periods of time.Subject to standing in natural, untreated river water or other water for extended periods of time.Subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.Subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.Subject to sufficient noise requiring the worker to provide verbal communication in order to be heard above ambient noise .Subject to sufficient noise requiring the worker to be able to hear the activation of the emergency action system or the request for assistance from a guest above ambient noise level.Subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.Subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.Subject to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin, such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.Exposure to multiple, high-stress situation at any given time and must maintain a high level of alertness.ResponsibilitiesMakes guest internal/external service and guest satisfaction a priority in every aspect of the job.Creates and maintains a culture of safe work practices.Responds quickly, intelligently, decisively and in accordance with established emergency action plan.Maintaining skills at a rescue-ready level at all times.Assisting with various tasks including grounds, tubes, line control and taking out trash.Cleaning, sweeping, cleaning tubes, lifting tables and moving heavy objects.Passing random audits of skill levels and attentiveness.
