Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the primary
function of the Maintenance Lead Person is to perform and
communicate maintenance on conveyors, screens, crushers, and other
plant equipment. The various types of maintenance are preventative,
predictive and general repair. This position is an entry level
leadership position requiring the successful candidate to assist
with supervising a small crew of roughly 8 to 10(/-) employees and
contractors promote safety, perform assigned duties, delegate
tasks, verify correct work procedures are followed, develop repair
procedures, steel fabrication, and solve problems with little
direct supervision. All standards should be communicated through
stated goals, daily interaction, team meetings, provide input on
employee performance evaluations, and recommend disciplinary
actions. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Perform simple and intermediate
type diagnosis repairs without constant supervision Lead a
maintenance/production workforce Perform standard office duties,
plant maintenance/production reports, maintain the work order
system in JDE by closing and submitting said work orders Work
closely with management to ensure implementation of scheduled
maintenance on all equipment and ordering all necessary supplies
and parts. Be responsible for scheduling and organizing employees
to accomplish daily work regarding production and maintenance and
maintain safety at all times Basic fabrication including utilizing
a welder and torch. Maintain housekeeping and appearance standards
as established for all active and non-active mine site areas
according to MSHA standards Maintain an excellent work/safety
record with high standard of performance and production Assist
management in developing profit plans, AFE'S, and monthly forecast
Demonstrate a positive attitude and energy level toward teammates,
peers, and customers Communicate with management and Human
Resources on Employee Relations Concerns Other duties as assigned
by supervisor EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum 3 to 5 years
experience related to heavy duty maintenance job or equivalent
combination of training and experience, preferably in aggregates
industry Minimum of 1 year supervisory or progressive leadership
experience High School Diploma or GED preferred Must maintain a
valid Driver’s License KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Ability to
read and write and communicate effectively Understand team based
management Self-starter with ability to work with little or no
supervision Strong mechanical knowledge Ability to handle multiple
projects simultaneously Ability to work with little to no
supervision and be a leader to all employees Demonstrated
proficiency with oxy/acetylene torch and stick welding, MIG a plus
Must be able to identify and order basic parts (bearings, idlers,
screens, pulleys) and keep up with inventory levels Must be able to
field lay out and fabricate in steel Must be able to perform duties
in a safe manner This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat,
safety glasses or goggles, steel-toed boots, hearing protection,
safety reflective vest, full body harness, welding hood Ability to
travel long distance by car or other commercial means, overnight at
times Must be able to work up to 12 hour shifts, possible weekends,
overtime, and holidays as needed Computer skills are required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders,
reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend
from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push and pull
objects Lift objects of various dimensions and weights Ability to
operate hand controls with both hands Ability to operate foot
pedals with both feet Ability to perform sustained overhead
reaching and bending or stooping Ability to use vibration tools
Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental
temperatures and weather Ability to work in areas with the
potential for high noise levels Ability to work in cramped quarters
Lift up to 75 lbs Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 100
feet Vision: Normal depth perception, vision and ability to
distinguish color WORKING CONDITIONS Larger equipment is typically
air conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments may
require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet
or dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels
