Do: The Director of AI & Data Solutions is a senior technical and
people leader responsible for delivering AI- and data-driven
solutions across HHS agencies and the U.S. Department of Veterans
Affairs (VA). This role operates within a matrixed consulting
organization, partnering closely with client account leadership,
delivery teams, and growth teams. Key responsibilities include: -
Lead and oversee AI and data solution delivery for federal health
clients, including HHS agencies and VA, ensuring high-quality
technical execution, regulatory compliance, and strong client
relationships - Serve as the technical delivery lead for complex
engagements, managing scope, staffing, risk, and project economics
in collaboration with account and program leadership - Act as a
trusted technical advisor to client stakeholders across IT, data,
analytics, interoperability, and mission functions - Support
business development efforts by working with account teams to
identify, shape, and pursue new opportunities, serving as the
AI/Data technical leader during capture, proposal development, and
client presentations - Translate public health and healthcare needs
into scalable, secure, and compliant end-to-end data and AI
architectures, spanning data modeling, engineering,
interoperability, analytics, AI/ML, and visualization - Lead
architecture and delivery decisions for centralized data
repositories and enterprise data platforms, enabling integrated
analytics, AI/ML, and decision support across diverse data sources
- Guide solution design and delivery across FedRAMP-authorized
environments, ensuring alignment with federal security, privacy,
and compliance requirements - Build, manage, and mentor
high-performing teams, including developing junior and mid-level
staff, providing technical guidance, and helping scale AI and data
capabilities across the organization - Stay current on emerging AI,
data, and interoperability technologies and assess their
applicability to federal health and VA client needs What You Will
Need: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field - A
minimum of TEN (10) years of experience in technology delivery,
architecture, or consulting, with a strong focus on AI, data,
analytics, or advanced digital solutions - A minimum of SEVEN (7)
years of experience delivering solutions to federal health
organizations, including HHS agencies and/or the Department of
Veterans Affairs - Proven experience leading and managing teams,
including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and growing
technical capabilities across a team - Demonstrated ability to
scale delivery and technical expertise across multiple projects or
accounts within a matrixed consulting environment - Proven history
of selling and shaping technology solutions in the federal health
market, including participation in captures, proposals, and client
presentations - Background as a Solution Architect, Data Architect,
and/or AI Architect, with hands-on experience leading, designing,
and delivering production-grade AI and data solutions - Strong
experience designing and delivering data interoperability and
integration solutions, including ingestion, transformation, and
harmonization of data from disparate clinical, public health, and
operational systems - Hands-on experience with centralized data
repositories and enterprise data platforms (e.g., Databricks,
Snowflake, Palantir, or comparable cloud-native platforms) -
Experience leading and delivering data/technology solutions within
FedRAMP-compliant environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure
Government, GCP, or equivalent) - Strong communication skills, with
the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical
and non-technical audiences, including senior client leaders -
Experience managing project financials, including estimates,
forecasts, and delivery margin accountability What Would Be Nice To
Have: - Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science,
Engineering, Public Health, or a related field - Direct experience
delivering AI, data, analytics, or interoperability solutions for
HHS agencies (e.g., CDC, CMS, NIH, FDA, HRSA) and particularly VA
health programs - Hands-on experience working with real-world
healthcare data, including electronic health records (EHR), claims,
and other administrative or observational data - Experience
applying analytics and AI to healthcare or public health data to
support clinical, operational, population health, or policy
decisions - Familiarity with federal health and VA data ecosystems,
including interoperability standards and frameworks such as FHIR
and HL7 - Experience architecting or modernizing enterprise-scale
data platforms that support analytics, AI/ML, and generative AI use
cases - Experience applying modern AI techniques (e.g., machine
learning, NLP, generative AI) to integrated, multi-source
healthcare datasets - Experience connecting or integrating federal
health data with commercial healthcare data, such as payer,
provider, life sciences, or digital health datasets - Consulting
experience supporting multiple concurrent federal health clients or
large-scale programs - Experience serving as a technical leader in
client workshops, executive briefings, proposal development, and
orals - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP
architecture, data, or AI certifications; PMP; SAFe) The annual
salary range for this position is $226,000.00-$376,000.00.
Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including
but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security
clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and
