actual or potential health problems of the patient, family and/or
significant other - Institutes approved medical protocols and
initiates a plan for patient care based on the initial assessment;
implements and continuously evaluates interventions; reassesses
patient needs on an on-going basis - Recognizes changing patient
condition and utilizes unit resources, chain of command in a timely
and appropriate manner - Assimilates and prioritizes information
sources to take immediate and decisive patient-focused action
