Job Title: RN - Cardiovascular Surgery Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10.5 Hours Experience: Minimum of 1 Year License: RN License Required Certifications: Certification Required for Surgical Technicians Must-Have: Candidates must have cardiac experience for the cardiac service line. Candidates without the required skills will not be considered for the role. Description: This is a contract position for an RN in cardiovascular surgery. The shift will be from 06:30 to 17:00. Call is required for this role. The unit has 22 operating rooms and is not a trauma hospital. There are 80 staff members on the unit. The staff typically consists of a charge nurse, RNs, CNAs, and sitters to run the operating rooms. There is one team in-house at all times. The patient ratio is 1:1. Typical equipment includes robotics, cardiac, vascular, neuro, spine, oncology, orthopedics, plastics, urology, and GYN. The EMR system used is Meditech. Permanent positions may be available on the unit for surgical technicians and night shift staff. Typical procedures performed include appendectomies, cholecystectomies, spine fusions, total joints, craniotomies, mastectomies, and DIEP flaps. The best personality fit for this role includes flexibility, teamwork, self-direction, and a positive attitude. Candidates must follow dress code guidelines, including providing scrubs. Closed-toe and heeled shoes are required, along with non-slip features. The unit prides itself on low turnover and a strong sense of teamwork.
