THE POSITION

• Vitesco is looking for skilled and talented engineersto supportassembly lines for ourvehicle products.
• The AGV Engineer is focused on optimizing the material supply chain throughout the factory, using lean manufacturing principles to find new methods of transporting raw material and finished goods between incoming warehouse, assembly lines, and shipping.
• Program AGV (Autonomous Guided Vehicle) and AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) pathways, pickup / drop locations, and routes
• Create and maintain required process documentation, including capacity studies, process flow charts, cycle time analysis, and training plans.
• Support production by troubleshooting AGV downtime issues and implementing permanent corrective action through structured problem solving
• Empower maintenance technicians to solve issues through documented training plans
• Coordinate with suppliers to optimize AGV interface with automated assembly equipment
• Design and implement equipment modifications to improve AGV interface with existing equipment
• Perform time studies to propose new AGV routes and methods
  Job Requirements
  
  BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering: Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing or related field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Manufacturing related internship
  • Zero to Five years experience in automotive manufacturing environment or similar role
  • Available and willing to assist and support after hours equipment and process issues remotely or, if needed, in person
  • Flexible schedule to work night shift or weekends if needed.
  • An ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities
    
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS (for non-associate level)
    
    • Knowledge of structured problem-solving tools: 5 why, 8D, Ishikawa diagram, DMAIC
    • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices (Kaizen, one-piece-flow, takt time, Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping, A3)
    • Design and application knowledge of ergonomics and machine safety standards
    • Knowledge of process setup, validation and release procedures
    • Experience with equipment installation, setup, validation and hand off to production.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing process documents & tools: process flow chart, PFMEA, control plan, line layout design, material flow, YAMAZUMI chart,
    • Understanding and knowledge of industrial machinery & electromechanical systems: machine elements, electro-pneumatics, sensors, PLC's, low voltage controls, vision systems, and robotics.
