This full-time K-12 visually impaired teacher position offers an engaging opportunity to support students with visual impairments across multiple grade levels, including K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The role requires delivering specialized instruction and tailored support to help students achieve their academic and developmental goals. The position is based in Spring Branch, TX, and involves a Monday through Friday schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week. Candidates should be prepared for possible itinerant assignments, traveling between various school sites to provide comprehensive support. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students spanning K-12. Deliver direct instruction, accommodations, and assistive technology training to enhance student learning. Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure effective integration of services. Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Provide orientation and mobility training as appropriate. Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding student progress. Desired Qualifications: Certification or licensure as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments. Experience teaching visually impaired students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive learning materials. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage itinerant teaching assignments efficiently between various school locations.
